Pump Manager™

A recirculation pump that runs continuously
has 2 expensive side effects.

  1. High energy costs
  2. Increased number of pinhole and slab leaks

Pump Manager controls the recirculation pump so that it only runs when there is a demand for hot water. See the drawing below to see how a hot water recirculation line works.

Recirculation Kit

The Recirculation Kit includes everything you need to convert an existing energy wasting hot water recirculation line into efficient hot water delivery system:

Installation

The installation of the Pump Manager is as simple as unplugging the existing pump from the wall outlet and plugging it into the Pump Manager. The Pump Manager is then plugged into the wall outlet.

The Flow Monitor is installed on top of the water heater. The cold water supply line is unscrewed, the Flow Monitor is attached and the supply is screwed onto the Flow Monitor.

The wires from the Flow Monitor are then attached to the Pump Manager. Typical installations take less than 1 hour to complete.

Other Installation Notes

If the existing recirculation pump isn't working properly or is in need of repair we suggest replacing with a higher speed pump like our WaterQuick Recirc Pump or equivalent.

We recommend that any copper flex supply lines be replaced. If they have been installed for more than a couple of months they become rigid and tend to leak if they are removed or re-bent.

Flex lines and any additional fittings, adapters or copper pipe are not included.

What's Included

Pump Manager: Turns the pump on and off based on feedback from the Flow Monitor.

Flow Monitor: When a hot water faucet is turned on water begins to flow. When the Flow Monitor senses flow (demand) it signals the Pump Manager to turn on the pump. When the demand ends it signals the Pump Manager to turn off the pump.
